ADVERTISEMENT FOR A/E REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
Pursuant to Alabama Act No. 2001-956, Shelton State Community College seeks proposals from qualified professionals licensed in the State of Alabama to provide architectural and/or engineering services for a multi-purpose technology classroom at its C.A. Fredd Campus.
Project General Description: This project will be paid with Title III funds and the estimated budget is approximately $1,000,000. This multi-purpose classroom will be a renovation of an existing facility and will have the capability of being converted from a two 45- seat classrooms or a larger 90-seat classroom. The space will be used for both instructional as well as for professional development.
Qualifications: Shelton State Community College will select the most qualified design professional as outlined in the Manual of Procedures, 2001 Edition, prepared by the Alabama Building Commission. Applicants must demonstrate successful experience in delivering fully
integrated facilities in a functional, economical and effective manner. Applicants must provide documented success in construction cost management, thorough, accurate and timely services and document production.
Act 2011-535 (Alabama Immigration Law) imposes conditions on the award of State contracts. Those requirements are effective 1 January 2012 for contracts receiving State funds. Proposers must agree to fully comply with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, as amended by the Immigration Act of 1990, and the Beason-Hammon Alabama Taxpayer and Citizen Protection Act. Architects and Engineers should review and adhere to these guidelines as appropriate to their project type. Response: Interested professionals should submit a letter of interest, a completed GSA Standard Form 330, and a State of Alabama Disclosure Statement along with any other relevant information to the following:
Proposals must be received no later than 2:00 PM, Wednesday, September 26, 2018.
This request for proposals is not an offer to contract but seeks the submission of proposals from qualified, professional respondents that may form the basis for the negotiation of a contract or agreement. A committee of representatives from the College will select at least three A/E firms for this open-end service from those submitting proposals for further and more detailed evaluation and review. Shelton State Community College reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to solicit additional proposals, through the RFP process, if that is determined to be in the best interests of the State of Alabama.
