Pursuant to Alabama Act No. 2001-956, Bishop State Community College seeks proposals from qualified professionals licensed in the State of Alabama for the provision and execution of architectural and engineering services for key “Year 1” projects identified as part of the ’17-‘18 master planning process.

Qualifications: Applicants will be selected on the basis of professional qualifications and successful experience with similar full service engagements. Applicant firms must clearly demonstrate a considerable body of successful experience with similar or closely-related facility types, and in delivering fully integrated facilities in a functional, economical and effective manner. Applicants must provide examples of success in construction cost management, the provision of accurate and timely services, and rapid document production.

Project(s) Description:As a part of the ’17-‘18 master planning process, the college is establishing strategic goals consistent with the growth and changes occurring in workforce development needs for major educational institutions in the state of Alabama.

Phase 1 - Year 1 projects have been identified for major facility renovation or new construction. These projects include, culinary arts, an advanced manufacturing facility, health and life sciences, student life, and a natatorium. Specific services required include, but are not limited to: basic feasibility report based on recent assessments already completed, programming, full ABC design services according to commission manual. Each project may be awarded independently and separately from the others.

Response: Interested firms must request, complete and submit questionnaires provided by Bishop State Community College. Requests for questionnaires must be e-mailed to: Cassie Boatwright, Executive Director of Facilities,

Questionnaires must be returned via e-mail to the address above and received no later than 3:00 PM Central Time, on or before Wednesday, January 24th, 2018. No other information such as firm marketing documents will be accepted at this time. In selecting the most qualified firm, Bishop State Community College will be guided by the Manual of Procedures, 2001 Edition, prepared by the Alabama Building Commission.

Teams will be notified of shortlisting no later than Friday January 26th, 2018. It is anticipated that interviews for AE Selection will be held February 1st, 2018.
